The Kettle Valley Steam Railway is unique – providing passengers with a historic journey along the only preserved section of the Kettle Valley Railway built during 1910 – 1915. This railway adventure winds through Prairie Valley - a quilted patchwork of lush orchards, vineyards and fields of green. Rock cuts and natural landscapes provide another kind of beauty as the train takes you onto the Trout Creek Bridge built 238 ft above the canyon floor. Historical commentary tells the fascinating story of the railway that changed the face of southern BC ninety years ago, its ultimate demise and its “rebirth” as a heritage attraction. Powered by the 3716 - a restored 1912 consolidation locomotive, you can see all from a vintage passenger or open-air coach. Games for kids, anecdotes, song, and lively musical entertainment make regular train runs a memorable experience for the whole family. You’ll also want to experience a “Great Train Robbery & BBQ” which brings the “Old West” alive. Other special event trains include Easter, Mother’s & Father’s Days, Christmas, the Summer Sunset Wine Train series and the Trick or Treat Train on October 28. Book large goups or private charters.
